Parramatta's always dynamic Artists Studios offer diverse audiences 'untraditional' ways to engage artists - and at the same time provide the resident artists with networking opportunities to connect with curators and industry professionals, media and press opportunities and chances to meet visiting interstate and international artists.

Since its establishment in 2006, PAS has supported artists to work and develop their careers in Parramatta. In this period more than 100 emerging, mid-career and established artists have participated in the program and have built PAS’ reputation as an incubator of artistic excellence.

Throughout this 10+ year history, PAS has supported artists by providing professional studio spaces; interstate and international residencies as well as enabling ambitious creative projects. This ambition has contributed to PAS' growing profile as a leading production space for contemporary artistic practice in Sydney.

In 2018 PAS resident artists include; Khadim Ali (UNSW Art & Design), Tom Blake, Jessica Bradford (UNSW Art & Design), Rosie Deacon (UNSW Art & Design), Chris Dolman, Emma Fielden, Rebecca Gallo (UNSW Art & Design), Caroline Garcia, Anthony Macris, Emily Parsons-Lord (UNSW Art & Design), Lisa Sammut (UNSW Art & Design), Shireen Taweel, Garry Trinh, Justine Youssef.

PAS artists make, connect and find inspiration in Parramatta, contributing significantly to its vibrant and quickly growing cultural sector. PAS is part of a broad network of artistic communities and cultural organisations based in the City including FORM Dance Projects, Riverside Theatres, Information and Cultural Exchange, Parramatta Art Society, Parraclay and the newly formed National Theatre of Parramatta.

Throughout their tenancy artists contribute to the broader community through PAS’ annual program of events, workshops and arts activities.

Parramatta Artist Studios is an initiative of the City of Parramatta and is supported by the NSW Government through Create NSW.
