As part of the process of encouraging dialogue between artists, theorists, and educators, UNSW Art & Design hosts an artist-and-scholar-in-residence program. The program provides invaluable opportunities to work with renowned creative practitioners from leading institutes around the world.
This semester Dr Rhonda Schaller from Pratt University in New York City will be residing on campus and delivering workshops and lectures in her fields of expertise. Dr Schaller is an artist, curator, writer, mentor, and teacher. She is the author of Create Your Art Career: Practical Tools, Visualizations, and Self-Exploration Exercises for Empowerment and Success. For over thirty years, she has directed her knowledge and experience in the use of meditation-visualization to further people’s art making.
For those interested in building and maintaining successful careers as practicing artists, Dr Schaffer will be running a series of classes in The Meditative Incubator, with the goal of controlling stress, gaining clarity of mind, and funneling creative energy in productive ways.
Join Dr Schaller every Tuesday evening from 5-7pm for five weeks from 7 March. Classes will take place on the UNSW Art & Design campus and are free and open to staff and students.
