The Japanese Film Festival (JFF) returns for another year to Event Cinemas on George Street in Sydney City. JFF offers a diverse range contemporary films from Japan, brings out special guests from Japan for Q&A evenings and film screenings, and offers programs and events for the audience to enjoy Japanese traditional and pop culture.
Free screenings of the JFF Classics Program are also currently on at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, from the 1st to 25th of October. This year's program, Vision and subversion: films by Seijun Suzuki offers a retrospective of the cult avante-garde director's visionary works on 35mm film.
UNSW Art & Design are pleased to give away 3x double passes to this year’s Japanese Film Festival held at Event Cinemas George St from November 16 to 26. Offering a fresh perspective on Japanese cinema, highlights include Anti-porno, a subversive arthouse film that tackles the patriarchy head-on, as well as the enigmatic hypnotic and electrifying Snow Woman, and a short film program showcasing works by three emerging directors in Japanese cinema.
To enter, please send your name, student number and your preferred email address to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Double passes will be given to the first three email entries.
