Celebrate dyke decadence and excellence in Eulogy for the Dyke Bar’s finissage party!
Enjoy a night of music, performance, and debauchery featuring some of Sydney’s hottest dykes, drag kings and DJs. The line-up features body positive activist, performance artist, and director of Big Thick Energy Demon Derriere; Colombian/Chilean drag king PAPI CHULO, and the original glambourboi Sexy Galexy, with music brought to you by Gamilaraay woman and DJ crescendoll.
Demon Derriere is a body positive activist, neo-burlesque performance artist and producer of body liberating festival Big Thick Energy, which was nominated ‘Best Arts Program’ for FBi SMAC awards 2022. Demon demands society’s attention to abolish ableism, destigmatise fatphobia and liberate all bodies. As a POC, Hard of hearing queer woman she aims to display the essence of the music through the feeling vibrations create. Demon explores her experiences of ‘otherness’ as she expresses sexual energy and blurs the lines between dance and pornography using traditional Egyptian Belly Dance, Burlesque, Auslan and the art of tease.
PAPI CHULO (He/They) is one of Sydney’s eminent Kings, but as the lucky dip of performers—you never know what you’re going to get! A master of sex appeal and comedy; mixing song, parody and impressions. They’re a Colombian/Chilean Drag King, actor, comedian, Host with the Most, DJ, event producer, writer and more (don’t be jealous, they’re very down to earth about it). Out of Drag, Natali Caro is a force of nature, recently having Assistant Directed on STC’s original work ‘Hubris & Humiliation’, was nominated best artist in last year’s FBi SMAC Awards, and shortlisted for ATYP’s Rebel Wilson Comedy Commission.
Sexy Galexy began her career performing in drag shows and events in her hometown of Perth during the late 1990s, during the golden age of lesbian and drag king culture. She performed in the Drag King Sydney which ran from 1999–2000. In 2002, Sexy Galexy and DJ Sveta co-founded the weekly event Kingki Kingdom which was later renamed Queer Central in 2006. Sexy has performed at numerous Mardi Gras events, Queer TV, Fringe Festivals and comedy Festivals.
crescendoll is a Gamilaraay woman and DJ, known for flirting with everything from juke, jersey, footwork, hard drum, UK bass, garage and acid. She has swiftly become a staple of the east coast club scene since her start in FBi Radio’s Dance Class program in 2020 gracing the stages of Pitch Music & Arts 2022, Duke St Block Party and was invited by DJ Pgz to partake in Sub Club 8th BDay.

Presented by UNSW Galleries, the National Art School and Sydney WorldPride, Eulogy for the Dyke Bar is a sculptural environment and memorial to bygone dyke bars. The installation incorporates a café and operating bar, and functions as an active community space for performances, cruising, socialising, and contemplating the future of queer spaces.
This project aims to reclaim the term ‘dyke’ in its most expansive sense and recognises that gender and identities are complex and fluid. Anyone who identifies with, or feels an allyship with, the dyke part of the queer spectrum is welcome and valued at the dyke bar.
