Biyani: Aboriginal women’s art as ceremony
Biyani is a Tharawal word which means ‘women healing women’. It was chosen to name an Aboriginal women’s arts program led by Associate Professor Fabri Blacklock.

Art & Design Alumna Marikit Santiago (Master of Fine Arts, 2017) has been named the recipient of the 2024 La Prairie Art Award, an acquisitive award championing Australian women artists.

UNSW School of Art & Design is situated in Paddington on land first occupied by the Bidjigal and Gadigal peoples. It has long been an important place of teaching, learning and creative exchange.
