The Urban Media Lab is a new collaboration with the Suzhou-based lighting technology company StrongLED who specialise in architectural lighting for media architecture. Students will spend time in Shanghai developing interactive design narratives in light for site specific architectural applications. Students will also work in Suzhou where StrongLED will provide all LED, light knowledge and technical support. The project outcomes will be prototyped, tested, and exhibited in StrongLED’s digital lobby and lighting museum.
10 New Colombo Plan Mobility Grants of $3000 for the Urban Media Lab are open to undergraduate UNSW Art & Design and Built Environment students who have available electives and are Australian citizens.
Urban Media Lab studio dates: January 6 – January 17 2020
Deadline for applications: 5pm on Friday August 30
Restrictions: students must have an elective to use. Dual Degree students are not eligible for application due to their courses not having electives.
