Now in its 15th year, the Paddington Art Prize is open for submissions. The Paddington Art Prize is a $30,000 National acquisitive prize, awarded annually for a painting inspired by the Australian landscape. Established in 2004 by Arts Patron, Marlene Antico OAM, this National prize takes its place among the country’s most lucrative and highly coveted painting prizes.
The prize encourages the interpretation of the landscape as a significant contemporary genre, its long tradition in Australian painting as a key contributor to our national ethos, and is a positive initiative in private patronage of the arts in Australia.
In addition, UNSW Art & Design will offer a selected artist the opportunity to create a limited edition print and a $3,000 prize will be presented to the Honourable Mention recipient. A $1,000 gift certificate from the Sydney Art Store will be presented to the Highly Commended recipient. We are continuing the People’s Choice Award with a $1,000 gift certificate sponsored by Charvin Oils.
This year's judges are Tony Costa, Katrina Cashman and Ramesh Mario Nithiyendran (UNSW Art & Design)
Deadline: Friday 17th August, 5pm.
