Arc @ UNSW Art & Design and Kudos Gallery are looking for a passionate, organised and self-motivated emerging arts professional to take on the role of Kudos Gallery Coordinator.
About the position:
The position of Kudos Coordinator is accountable for the daily operations of Kudos Gallery. The gallery is run on a not-for-profit basis as a service to Arc members, providing students at Art & Design the opportunity to engage with the broader Sydney arts community. The building is leased from the Greek Orthodox Community of NSW and is situated on Napier St, Paddington.
The Kudos Coordinator works primarily with students, artists, curators, writers, faculty staff and alumni on the planning, publicity and installation of exhibitions. They look after artwork sales and exhibition fees, as well as WHS, maintenance, promotion and general operations of the gallery. The Kudos Gallery Coordinator is also responsible for leading the Kudos Committee in the curatorial programming of Kudos Gallery, and to mentor the Kudos Gallery intern.
About Kudos Gallery:
Kudos Gallery is Arc @ UNSW Art & Design’s off-campus gallery and exhibition space for students and emerging artists, curators and designers. It is our largest service provided to students at UNSW Art & Design. Since 1998, Kudos Gallery has been host to some of Sydney's most exciting artists, curators and writers and continues to be a fertile ground for provocative concepts, innovative technologies and cutting-edge art forms and styles. Kudos Gallery is the birthplace for the next generation of ground-breaking contemporary Australian artists, designers and curators.
By providing opportunities for students to volunteer, intern or join the committee, Kudos Gallery offers a supportive professional environment for UNSW Art & Design students to showcase their ideas, take risks and develop an exhibition profile at the University.
What are we looking for:
More than anything else we are looking for someone with the essential skills who will take on the role of Kudos Gallery Coordinator with a sense of leadership, creativity and flexibility. The successful individual will take their unique approach to administration and programming to maintain and build upon the high level of exhibitions and programming Kudos has established to date.
