Created in 1965, the foundation Cité internationale des arts is today the largest artist residency centre in the world. Located in the heart of Paris, it is ideal for artists to interact with the cultural scene of the French capital, and the Cité is an important hub in the cultural landscape of Paris and internationally. Artists from all disciplines and generations, French or from abroad, are hosted for residencies that can last from 2 to 12 months. The ambitious project of Cité internationale des arts is to welcome artists from all around the world, giving them the adequate environment to encourage encounters, artistic crossovers and creativity. It is a place open to dialogue between cultures, where artists meet their audiences and professionals.
Artists who receive residencies are welcomed by a team who organise social events, French classes, individual interviews, etc The Cite also boasts a 128-seat Auditorium, 525m2 Galerie, the Corridor exhibition space and outdoor spaces
In addition, residents benefit from special support from the Cité internationale des arts team, which helps them implement their project, develop their network and meet other residents and cultural professionals. As part of the cultural programs of the Cité, they can also present their work through concerts, exhibitions, shows, screenings, and open studios.
