Micro-credentialed short courses are designed to enable practitioners to quickly learn the latest technologies, skill sets and competencies they need to meet the growing demand for (and convergence of) immersive practices.
Courses can be face-to-face or online, at any time over the year. They are non-award, badged by UNSW Sydney and APSA and can be recognised for credit towards the Graduate Certificate or Masters of Visualisation, Simulation, and Immersive Design.
Specialised Training Programs
We can work with your company to develop in-depth, customised training programs badged by UNSW Sydney, and delivered by our experts either online, on site or at UNSW Sydney facilities. Programs can be recognised for credit towards the Graduate Certificate or Masters of Visualisation, Simulation, and Immersive Design.
Graduate Certificate and Masters
The Graduate Certificate (0.7 years) and Master (1.7 years) of Visualisation, Simulation, and Immersive Design are advanced, transdisciplinary programs, offering a unique human-centred, design driven approach. You will become qualified to utilise simulation, visualisation and immersive environments to take up a range of high value positions as design leaders, managers, trainers, artists, researchers, planners, analysts, innovators, and entrepreneurs in a wide range of industry sectors.
To help you balance work and learning, you can study full or part-time in our postgraduate programs. You can also bring your existing industry knowledge into your study. Professionals with knowledge and experience in a particular domain will benefit from a broadening human-centric conceptual foundation, and you can personalise your learning, melding workplace experience and personal interests into your projects.
The Graduate Certificate and Masters programs have been designed as a low-residency experience to accommodate busy professionals. The core courses are conducted online, with two to three intensive face-to-face meet ups per term on campus or at our industry partner simulation facilities. Most meet ups will take place on the weekend to maximise flexibility. You will also have full access to all campus facilities throughout each term. For elective courses you will be able to select from a range of fully online courses and on-campus face-to-face courses with weekly scheduled classes.
Recognition of Prior Learning
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) may be granted for formal, non-formal and workplace learning for specified credit in accordance with UNSW recognition of prior learning procedures for elective courses within the program. RPL will not be considered for core courses and the capstone course. For more details about RPL and the application form please click here.
Alternative Entry Pathway
Applicants who do not have a Bachelors degree or who have a WAM equivalent between 60-64.9% may apply for RPL for admission into the Graduate Certificate based upon at least 5 years industry experience. Given the transdisciplinary nature of the program industry experience may be in any discipline. Applicants must submit a digital portfolio. Students who complete the Graduate Certificate with a WAM of 65 may articulate into the full Masters program.
